Drovw all the way from Scarborough for this… Great food and personalized service. The mermaid sauce was THE sauce. Chef came out to ask if we were enjoying the meal, very nice gesture. Dinner for 2 was about $300. Was a little disappointed they don’t serve alcoholic beverages but i understand that’s because the restaurant is halal. No biggie. We had their foreign bottled drinks and in-house mango juce. We loved the food and experience and would visit again.

This place looks like cafeteria style with the big numbers on tables where you go up to order and then sit down yourself, but you actually have to wait to be seated by the staff. It gets pretty busy and people tend to make reservations. We got the mermaid mixed platter with 10 shrimp, a lobster tail, steak, lamb and 2 sides (we got yellow rice and fries) for $125. The food was tasty but not really worth the price for that quality and quantity. The lobster was a overcooked but the steak was cooked medium rare as we requested. The service was pretty slow for how few tables there are. Staff are friendly though

I recently dined at this restaurant with a friend, and it was a delightful experience! We both had the sea bass—mine was prepared butterflied Egyptian style while my friend enjoyed his with lemon, garlic, and grilled to perfection. We also added half a pound of calamari. The fish was incredibly fresh, and the seasoning was spot-on. We paired our meals with brown rice and a crisp, fresh salad. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in. Being able to choose our seafood from the counter was a fun and unique touch. The chef's expertise truly shone through in every bite. I can't wait to return. Highly recommend it! The food was yummy.. however I found it on the pricer side. We ordered the 2lb platter and fish on the side. The AC was not working and the place got really very hot and humid. The servers were kind and helpful!

The fish was well cooked, yet tender and juicy They took less than 20 minutes to get 2 meals ready ( both fried and grilled). This was our first time and we were impressed

Had the 2lbs platter and added snow crab. The service was very fast and the food was amazing. They aren’t stingy with the calamari and the pieces are thick. Shrimp, mussels and lobster were all delicious and clearly fresh. I’ve been seeing how busy it is and wanted to try it for a long time now. Also love that they have meat options too. The lamb chops looked good so will definitely be going back!

As one of the world's great civilizations since antiquity, Egypt has always been nourished by the strength of its great waterways: the Nile, the Red Sea, and the Mediterranean. Offering the riches of the sea, Mermaid Fish & Grill House offers their authentic Egyptian seafood experience - just like the sign says. With a wide selection of fish and preparation styles to chose from, I went with the Grilled Salmon Fillet - seasoned with cumin, garlic and lemon. Fresh and tender, the salmon lay atop an appetizing bed of saffron rice and arugula salad. Solid visual presentation and taste to match. Having arrived around 2:00pm on a Sunday afternoon with ample space for seating, the place filled up quickly and was packed by 3:00pm. Obviously the locals know a good thing when they see it, and Mermaid Fish & Grill House is very good. Note: Ridgeway Plaza is a gold mine of great restaurants and shops. With classic Mediterranean flair (and chaos), parking during peak hours is not for the faint of heart.

The food we ordered tasted great, the portion was worth the price. I ordered Pharoh' Rada which was a grilled fish with a choice of sides, I chose the yellow rice and salad (also order price is based on the market price of the fish you chose. I choose seabream. My child had a fish and fries platter her portion was also a good size and my husband had lamb chops with yellow rice and salad. The yellow rice paired so well with the fish and salad it tasted great will visit again and recommend it.
